About Jim Hastings Ltd
Jim Hastings Limited was established in 1973 by Jim Hastings to service the construction industry, carrying out building and ground works contracts for clients including Local Authorities, the National Coal Board and the Central Electricity Generating Board, amongst others.
After 50 years we maintain a strong North East presence in the market place, employing over 35 people, including the next two generations of the family.
We have a proven reputation for quality and reliability. We are dedicated at all times to deliver the highest calibre of service by highly trained, friendly, reliable, competent and trustworthy people, irrespective of contract value.
After many years of giving excellent service the company has preferred supplier status with many organisations.

We have a dedicated and loyal workforce most of whom have been with the company for many years and are committed to the company’s ethos. We ensure they are all well informed, well trained and feel involved and valued.
Our employees hold SMSTS, SSSTS, Site Safety Plus, CPCS certification and 100% CSCS cards. They also hold Environmental Awareness, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, HSG47/Cat & Genny, IPAF, PASMA, EUSR etc. We have an in-house Health and Safety/Environmental Manager with IOSH and IEMA membership.
We all understand our responsibilities in respect of Health and Safety and Environmental issues and are committed to a programme of continual improvement in these areas.
Our managers are empowered and supported to take responsibility and make key decisions with confidence. Being proactive helps the business run efficiently in an ever changing industry, and together with our clients we tackle challenges to achieve successful outcomes.
We have a well established training programme and operate a yearly training plan with the CITB. This, in conjunction with our extensive supply chain of specialist subcontractors and suppliers, means we are able to carry out a wide variety of projects.
